What is the CSCA exam?
The China Scholastic Competency Assessment is a standardized test for international students planning undergraduate study in China. It assesses academic readiness and may be used by participating Chinese universities as part of admission and scholarship evaluation.
The official exam authority publishes the current syllabus, registration information, schedules, and test rules at csca.cn. Always check that source and the admission requirements of each university before registering.
Which CSCA subjects do you need?
The correct combination depends on the language and subject area of the degree programme. Do not assume that every applicant takes the same papers.
Mathematics
A fundamental paper required for applicants to participating undergraduate programmes. It is offered in Chinese and English.
Physics and Chemistry
Requirements depend on the intended university programme, especially for science, engineering, agriculture, and medicine.
Professional Chinese
Usually relevant to Chinese-taught programmes. Applicants to fully English-taught programmes may be exempt; confirm with the target university.
